Out-of-Country Travel
There are a lot of great places to visit in Asia while on this side of the International Date Line. Below are a few considerations for traveling outside of the country:
- Members here on PCS orders will need to use leave orders and a CAC when transiting Korean Immigration, not their Tourist Passport. Tourist Passports will be used when entering/exiting visited countries (other than U.S.)
Note: Since Jeju is part of Korea, members traveling there via flight will use their Tourist Passport. Always keep a copy of your orders with you.
- Dependents & Civilian Employees will use their SOFA-stamped Passports when transiting through Korean Immigration. Tourist Passports will be used when entering/exiting visited countries (other than U.S.)
- Members must consult the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG) for location-specific travel requirements.
- Typically, members will need to complete a Theater and/or Country Clearance Request through an APACS request and submit a Travel Tracker/Individual Antiterrorism Plan (TT/IATP) for all travelers in their party.
- Many countries have specific entry and visa requirements. Be sure to check that country’s official travel website for further details.
